This week I weighed in at 265lbs. Better. The morning routine is coming together. I need to work on some 10-15 minute stretching, yoga, and calisthenics routines to follow. Using the Daily Calm feature on Calm is proving to be a great way to work in the meditation. For cardio, I’ve been using the Precor elliptical until Ohio’s winter decides to go away.
Getting the routine in while traveling is a challenge. Jetted off on a quick two day round of meetings in Texas. Had to catch a 0600 flight so that shot the routine yesterday and last night I didn’t sleep so getting up early was a non-starter this morning. And I forgot workout gear. So writing this is sort of a replacement.
I’m noticing, with the morning routine, I’m prepared to walk out of the house. I’ve accomplished something for me before having to face doing stuff for others. It is a good feeling . With some tweaks and warmer weather I hope to make the morning routine a habit.
Next steps are to make my evenings more rewarding. Generally, there is no plan. TV gets watched, way to much Gummy Drop gets played (what is it with that game?!?!), and time flies by. It’s easy to claim exhaustion but that would betray the efforts to the good morning and hard work all day. Do we work all day to simply coast in our personal lives at night or do we need to flip that equation? Living during the non-“work” hours is something I need to work on. An engaged marriage and self-improvement are the top priorities with preparation for the next phase an important third priority related to the first two.
Do you have plans to work on skills or other self-improvement projects you’ve put off? Share them. I’d love to encourage you to meet your goals as I strive to meet mine. I’d love to know what steps you are taking to make a difference in your life.
Steve
